A Nice Omega cal684 ladies. Original strap & Crown

The "O" ring seal is totally dissolved and makes the movement and case quite a dirty one.

No matter the ultrasonic bath will help with that although the seal may need a little bit of manual encouragement

The timegrapher for comparison on before and after service.

Movement now coming together and the dial is in very good condition for a 70s watch.

Beautiful piece of artwork.

Another lovely ladies Omega was bought. I finally got around to sending it for service and in truth it's a cracker. A very popular model of the Omega range in the form of a Dynamic. It's a little less common in my mind as the dial colours coupled with the gold plated colour of the case and original bracelet are a little less seen for whatever reason. I like these Dynamics and it seems so did many in the 60s and 70s as there now seems to be many about for sale. I have updated the relevant page with photos of the watch and a link to the service.

I contacted longines directly and was very pleasantly surprised to receive a reply but even more surprised to be told the actual date of manufacture which was June 1970 originally being invoiced to Longines-Wittnauer in America. This caliber of movement was first produced in 1967.
It's a lovely watch in both looks and movement quality. Longines in general for me is a lovely brand of wristwatch and this particular hi beat movement is quite important as it was a last ditch effort to ward of the inevitable march of the very accurate quartz movement. It failed just like all mechanical watches as the price alone was unbeatable.
The seconds sweep on this is as seamless as they come with hardly any ticking noted at all.
Special lubrication is needed due to the high beat nature.

That shows the difference very nicely indeed. Double amplitude and running very accurately with a slight adjustment of 3s a day dial up
The Mainspring cannot be changed alone due to the strength of the spring so you change the whole barrel and mainspring.

Must de Cartier Ladies Watch

A nice classy watch for Mandy to wear. I can see these becoming more sought after in time...or is that just hoping.

Cordura Seagull - His & Her's Baumgartner 158 31/7 & EB 8170

A pair of lovely mid 70s Cordura Seagull watches all restored and serviced. A basic Pin Pallet movement can have you overlooking these watches but they are quite nice in the flesh. Look at the stunning dial on the ladies!
Both came from the USA and have now been serviced. True to form the movement does not keep great time losing about c1 1/2 minutes a day but they have great character and we love 'em.

Another lovely ladies Omega was bought in October this year. I finally got around to sending it for service and in truth it's a cracker.
