Omega....it never really ends.
Another lovely ladies Omega was bought in October this year. I finally got around to sending it for service and in truth it's a cracker. A very popular model of the Omega range in the form of a Dynamic. It's a little less common in my mind as the dial colours coupled with the gold plated colour of the case and original bracelet are a little less seen for whatever reason. I like these Dynamics and it seems so did many in the 60s and 70s as there now seems to be many about for sale. I have updated the relevant page with photos of the watch and a link to the service.

Addiction?
Mmmmm....I seem fixated on these things that go tick....
I have bought a few more Tissots which I will photograph shortly. They are non running as such....well aren't they always? I have been looking at a few Travel clocks from the 50s-60s also but I can't justify the Jaeger clocks at present despite some of them oozing class.

Tissot.....so good.
Having sent away two watches to Michael Swift (horologist) Michael Swift we were pleased to say we will use his services again. Only slight issue is that Mandys watch date does not flick over fully but gets stuck half way. The watches are now keeping great time and the crystal on Mandys has been polished to look like new. The prices we were charged were very reasonable and we had the watches back within the 5-6 week turn around stated.

Happy....Happy....Happy
Mandy received a little anniversary present off me today. We both have a love of timepieces of all kinds but a wristwatch is probably the most sought, desired, practical and most used of all of the instruments that keeps us running along in our daily lives.
A lovely little Omega cal 684 with originality written all over it....literally!
To see more info on this watch and it's servicing please see the pages of the blog.

So Far So Good
Having sent my watch back to Christian "The Watch Guy" as the auto winder was just not winding that well I have today had the chance to test it. Well in truth I will be testing it over the next couple of days to see if the auto winder is doing it's job. Christian kindly supplied all the knowhow on what was wrong and after purchasing another doner 431 Longines movement spares...I now think we are in buisiness as this seems a lot better in several way's. Let's hope!

Some things need a bit more attention.... particularly older things!
The Longines watch I sent in for repair is not just working to it's best. The wind up and running of the watch is superb. The problem is with the auto winder reverse wheel which seems to be causing the watch not to be receiving enough power to run let alone create the required 40hr pwer reserve.
Ebay was a place I could find parts...with some luck and I decided on a nigh on full movement purchase rather than just the "bit" I needed. The cost seemed Ok and at least i have spares now.
I will send the watch back as Christian kindly offered to fix the watch with the new part.
I need to find the time to package the watch and parts up and hope for the best.
