This is a really nice watch visually and ably backed up by a lovely beat automatic movement. I purchased this from America as it had the original strap which sets the watch off nice. It was running very fast when originally purchased so it has been sent for service. This was the 3rd ladies PR516 watch to be purchased. I am yet to find a mens in good condition with original strap.

Rado

Rado
Rado Diastar Mens "magic 40"(ref 107) Purchased 18/04/2013
Serviced 00/00/00 (ref )00:00
The movement of this watch is an automatic cal 2836-2 with 25 jewels dated (1999-2004)
BPH 28800 A/h-Power Reserve 40hrs
It has quick set day & Date and a hacking feature which stops the seconds hand for accurate timing.
The watch is a strange watch as it's a little "blingy" in look but it's materials are of high quality. A composite made of tungsten carbide powder and a metal binder, hardmetal is moulded and pressed at a pressure of 1,000 bar to form the rough case, which is then sintered in a vacuum furnace at 1,450°C. This process resulted in an incredible hardness of 1,400 to 2,000 Vickers, and a brilliance, after polishing with diamond dust, that would only add lustre. The concept requiring unprecedented hardness led to a new emphasis on the glass as well, which needed to be as robust as the casing. Sapphire crystal proved to be the solution, with the result that the Rado DiaStar, and all Rado watches since, feature sapphire crystal. I like Rado watches and I have yet to get a nice ceramic bracelet Rado. The movement is also a well tested and robust movement that is seen in mid priced watch movements.
